Frequently Asked Questions
Maintenance refers to minor work: external cleaning, water resistance check, and movement check. A service is a complete operation: the movement is entirely disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted piece by piece before reassembly. Restoration goes even further: it applies to vintage or damaged parts and may involve searching for or remanufacturing obsolete components. We establish a precise diagnosis and recommend the truly necessary intervention, no more, no less.
The general rule is a complete overhaul every 5 years for a mechanical or automatic watch, depending on the manufacturer and the conditions of use. Some highly complicated calibers or watches worn daily may require more regular maintenance. A well-maintained watch is passed down from generation to generation; a neglected watch deteriorates from the inside, silently. We advise you during each diagnosis.
Prices depend on the complexity of the movement, the brand, and the condition of the watch. As a guide, a standard service for an automatic watch from a major brand (Rolex, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre) typically ranges from 500 to 1,000 CHF. Complicated calibers (perpetual calendar, tourbillon) require longer and more technical interventions, billed between 1,000 and 2,500 CHF. For vintage pieces requiring extensive restoration, each quote is established individually after diagnosis. We always provide you with a written estimate before you commit.
Yes. The absence of the original box or documents does not prevent us from carrying out technical work. However, this may affect the resale value if you consider a future consignment. We will inform you of this during the diagnosis, in full transparency.
A standard service generally takes between 3 and 6 weeks. Complex restorations or the search for vintage parts can extend this timeframe. We will provide you with a precise schedule upon acceptance of the quote, and we will keep you informed at each significant stage.
A slight variation in timekeeping is normal and inherent to any mechanical movement. However, significant or sudden variations (several minutes per day) can indicate a clogged movement, dried-out oil, or a component beginning to wear. It is better to consult early: intervening before damage worsens is always less costly. Bring us your timepiece; the diagnosis is free.
Yes. Every repair carried out by our network is covered by a warranty on labor and replaced parts. The duration varies depending on the nature of the service and is communicated to you in writing when your part is returned. This is our commitment to trust.
Yes. As soon as your part is taken in charge, you receive a written summary of the planned intervention. We will contact you at each important stage (quote validation, start of intervention, final check) via your preferred channel (phone, email, WhatsApp).
We work with all major Swiss and international watch manufacturers, including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Omega, Breguet, and many more. Our expertise allows us to cover a very wide range of calibers, including vintage movements and rare complications.
For our clients who are unable to travel, or for items of exceptional value, we study each situation individually. Contact us to discuss it; discretion and convenience are integral to our service.
